Go to somewhere new, would be one of your goals with your travel buddy. Visiting Polillo Island is a good place to be with your families, loved ones or friend as a travel buddy.
How did we get there since it is somewhere new...To be a budget friendly tour of course we commute :D We take 4 hours bus ride at Legarda Manila going directly to Real Quezon. Ordinary buses leaves at 11 pm then 1 am for air-conditioned buses. The boat at the 'Pantalan' or port schedule is 5:30 am , 7:00 am and 6:00 am. It is important that you arrive at the port early in the morning.
I've been in Polillo with my travel buddy for three days and we we're amazed on our first day trip by the white sand beaches in the island.
For a place to stay you may inquire to Seahorse Hotel for accommodations. There are also some beach resorts there that have cheaper entrance fees that costs just Php 50 but still a nice place to stay, and you can freely built your camping tent and do bonfire at night. You may also ask the locals there some tourist spots to visit around the island, they are very accommodating.
If you are escaping the city and following the sun, this island would be a great and peaceful hiding place to go. It was summer when we visit there but it's not very crowded and it is quiet and very relaxing in this island.
Locals here are very accommodating that they even allow us to play at the elementary school, and this open field is really perfect for us to play baseball. Feels like a kid again.
We make a bet at this game, the losing team should do "igib ng tubig sa balon".
My first time to see a wishing well was when I'm in grade school back in our province, it was at President Emilio Aguinaldo's house at Kawit Cavite it has many coins since it's a wishing well. And as part of the losing team I was able to fetch the water from a 'balon' or well. It is so deep that you have to be more careful of pulling it, by the way, it also a good exercise for your arms.
It was really an amazing experience knowing that you have nothing to do but relax and unwind. We haven't been everywhere, but it's in our list. "But in life, It is not the places where you go, it is who you travel with.
